Update on Boris

This is a character I've had for a while and I finally got around to rigging him and next will be some animating. I haven't decided if I want to actually give him a lower half yet... legs? Tank treads? hmmm..?

Stag in the Box

When I worked at Rhythm and Hues we all got a unique gift. In fact the gigt was a dead bug that had been displayed in a pine box by perhaps some bug killers... (Entomologists) Anyway, I was inspired to create the very beetle I randomly recieved. It's called a Stag Beetle. They look fierce and quite moody. Crikey!!!

Here's one with a reflection more obvious.

Game Asset (Mid to Background resolution)

This was a test to create a game asset under 2,000 Tri's and keeping the Diff, Normal, and Spec maps at very low resolution.

Boris in the Black Car

This is a character I've been working on and I thought would look cool cruising in this old car I modeled a while back. I did all aspects. This was good practice for tying in the real photo background with 3D.

McHail @ 6 Months 

This is an old model I re-textured, lit and rendered for fun. My wife and I just had a healthy little girl we named Mia and so this is inspired by her. She looks a lot like McHail did as an infant. I also couldn't quite decide yet, so I'm posting a couple.

I wanted to show off a cool project I had the pleasure of working on while in NYC. I had the chance to work with some great artist and all around fantastic people.

(Since I did leave this project while in progress to work in Las Vegas at Atronic, I was not mentioned in the credits of this current article. :( I did want to show off the work anyway and my supervisor William was happy to comment about my time with FunGoPlay.

Character WIP

Here's a couple images of a model I worked on for a while today. I plan on updating this guy as I go. I'm thinking some ZBrush eventually. I may add a WIP gallery, but for now this spot will work.

HDRI Latest Issue #32

In HDRI Magazine Issue #32 Dave Codeglia, the VFX Supervisor at Digisynd in Los Angeles, has written an article about the process of creating an ad spot for Disney Interactive Studios property "Spectrobes: Origins." Dave takes you from pre production to post as he experienced it. I was privileged to work with Dave on this project and was very excited to read about it in the latest issue of HDRI Magazine.
